Fairhaven were delighted to host a recent CIBSE NI technical seminar, presented by Scott Paton of Monodraught Ltd. The seminar, titled – ‘Natural and hybrid Ventilation, thermal comfort and IAQ in schools’ was held on Thursday 20th June at the Crowne Plaza, Shaw’s Bridge. Scott is Monodraught’s technical consultant for the London region, and has a extensive experience in Building Simulation and modelling.
The presentation focused on the recently updated BB101 – Ventilation, thermal comfort and indoor air quality 2018 guidelines published by the Department for Education. This guide is pushing school building designers to use more sophisticated methods of ventilation, in an effort to improve IAQ and thermal comfort of occupants. Hybrid ventilation systems such as Monodraughts “Hybrid Thermal Mixing” HTM system are leading the way in providing a cost effective means of compliance with the new requirements.
