HVR Zero – the ideal retrofit ventilation solution

The exposed version of Monodraught Ltd‘s new HVR Zero hybrid ventilation system was designed with classrooms in mind, but it is also ideal for retro-fitting into existing offices. It doesn’t take up any floor space, there is no ducting to install*, and just a simple rectangular wall opening connects each unit to an outside louvre. It is also practically silent in operation.
The controls are sophisticated yet require no user input, continually monitoring temperature and CO2 levels to provide just enough ventilation for a healthy, comfortable indoor environment. The on-board controls have been completely redesigned around the Modbus communication protocol, allowing up to 3 units to be run as a single system in “parent-child-child” configuration.
User interaction is by way of the brand new “Modena” wall controller, which features a colourful touchscreen display and bold, simple graphics.
Another exciting new feature that has been developed as part of the HVR offering is the all new “Acuity” central control unit. This touchscreen based interface panel connects (via a Modbus network) to all the HVR systems in a building, allowing the status of all units to be viewed from a central point, and providing a single interface with the BMS system. Acuity also securely uploads operational data of all systems to the cloud via its 4G connection. The data is then autonomously analysed, allowing performance to be reviewed and any issues flagged, allowing Monodraught to pro-actively support and address any issues on site.
At Fairhaven, we liked the HVR system so much, we installed one in our own office! We chose the exposed version as we don’t have a large void above the ceiling. It was simple to install and looks great, and is practically silent in operation. Our office is open plan, approximately 60sqm, with up to 8 people, so one unit (daytime ventilation rate of 130 l/sec) is more than sufficient. For larger offices, multiple units can be installed in a master-slave arrangement working off the same room controller.
