In response to requests for product data and technical detail in the UK market, S&P are adding additional data such as spigot dimensions, electrical connection details and maximum duty point to the vast range of 3D models that are already available via their EASYVENT selection program. REVIT models will also be available. This allows users to meet the requirements for BIM Level 2.
EASYVENT is arguably the most complete, intuitive, flexible fan-selection site available, offering end users, designers, consulting engineers and other specifiers access to a fully searchable database of the entire range of S&P air movement products. Features include:
- Pre-calculation tool for airflow.
- Add accessories to your selection.
- Option to compare different product curves.
- Create a project and add multiple fans
- Configure product options and operating points
- Export customised data sheets
Building information modeling (BIM) is a process involving the generation and management of digital 3D representations of physical and functional characteristics of new construction projects. Current BIM software is used by individuals, businesses and government agencies who plan, design, construct, operate and maintain diverse physical infrastructures, such as water, wastewater, electricity, gas, refuse and communication utilities, roads, bridges and ports, houses, apartments, schools and shops, offices, factories, warehouses and prisons (source: Wikipedia). From April 2016 BIM is compulsory on all UK Government funded projects.
The EASYVENT software has always featured the ability to download 3D CAD models of the products; this new additional information being added to the database will help enhance the existing product data and support the increasing use of BIM throughout the global construction industry.
