Fairhaven have recently designed and supplied a complete paint shop ventilation system for SFM Engineering’s upgraded wet painting facility in Keady, Co. Armagh. The system was installed by Kelly Mechanical Services, and incorporates two 630mm dia extract fans and an 800mm dia supply fan, all of which are ATEX rated units from the TCBT range of cased axial fans by Soler & Palau (S&P).
With motorised dampers to allow the system to be automatically switched from 100% recirculation to full fresh air, the setup also includes an 80kW LPHW heating coil to allow the temperature in the paint room to be raised to up to 40 deg C for fast curing. Controls for the system were provided by MCA Controls, utilising a Cylon programmable controller and Danfoss variable frequency drives.
